This was an adventurous hike planned that got submarined half way through, just like the Florida Barge Canal. First the keys were left in the wrong vehicle, second the cell phone was lost on the trail. After 9.2 miles of a planned 14 mile hike, we came to the realization that there would not be a key to the vehicle at the terminus of our hike, and that we had no cell phone to call for a pickup. We bailed out at the 484 cross, and went to 200 to make the rescue call. Mimi was watching Agassis last US Open match and had to bail us out. I told her it was my stomach. Well all ended up well as we find the cell phone 1 mile in.... The family of hogs that crossed us willy nilly was kind of cool, and the elevation change from the barge canal diggings made for interesting hiking. We finished the 3.5 miles the next day and finished off with my home trail at the land bridge.
